  2. You can install the dog door in the bottom corner with screen material on two sides

Installing a Dog Door with Screen Material on Four Sides

  1. Measure the size of your dog. Measure your dog’s height and width. To get the exact height, measure from the ground to his shoulder. To get the right width, measure across the shoulders, or the widest part of the doggie. Make sure you add a few centimeters to make sure your dog has enough room to move in and out of the pet door.
  2. Buy the right doggie door. Depending on your Charlie’s measurements, buy the ideal size of pet door for screen door.
  3. Take out the screen door. The next step is to remove the screen from the joints and place it on the floor.
  4. Mark the area you want to cut. Use a pen to mark the outline of the dog door you’re going to install.
  5. Cut through the screen. When you’re sure that you have the right measurements and outline, cut through the screen mesh using a sharp blade.
  6. Place the dog frames together. Take the interior frame of the dog door and place it over the exterior frame to align them nicely. Snap the ends together or screw them in.
  7. Reinstall the screen. Reinstall the screen door in its position.

And voila! Now your dog can enjoy his newfound freedom unrestrictedly.

  4. Mark the area you want to cut. Use a pen to mark the outline of the dog door you’re going to install. As you’re cutting near the bottom of the screen mesh, be extra careful with the spline fitting. Instead of cutting through the spline, use a screwdriver to loosen the spline from one end and then take it out. Once it’s taken out, continue cutting through the screen mesh.
  5. Align the frames. Take the interior frame of the dog door and place it over the exterior frame to align them nicely. Snap the ends together or screw them in.
  6. Place your door into its original position. Place the screen door back in its position.
